Overview

This Kashmir solo travel package is for a solo traveller who wants the valley on their own terms. You stay four nights in Srinagar in a single room and a private cab takes you to Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. Call it a solo trip or a Kashmir solo trip package, the idea is the same: one traveller, one room, one car, and days you can change without asking a group.

The price is ₹12,999 per person for one traveller with a room to themselves. If a friend joins you and you share a room, it is ₹19,999 for the two of you. GST is extra. We have been running Kashmir trips from our Boulevard Road office in Srinagar for over 25 years, and we are registered with J&K Tourism (Reg. No. JKTA00000675).

The group trip costs more on paper because the Delhi bus, dinner and a Phase 1 gondola ticket are included in it. On this package you pay for your own flight or train to Srinagar, and lunch and dinner are extra. Compare like with like before you decide. Travelling alone: what we do

We share your driver details before you arrive, so you know who is meeting you at the airport. Our team is on WhatsApp 24×7 for the whole trip, whether a road closes or you just want to know where to eat.

On this package you have a room to yourself, so there is no sharing to arrange. Sharing only comes up on our group departures, such as the BigBoss trip, and there a room is only ever shared with a traveller of the same gender. A woman travelling alone shares only with another woman.

Where should a solo traveller stay?

This page is the tour. If you are only choosing a bed, read hotels for solo travellers and then tell us which town you want the room in. The article is about stays. This page is the circuit with the cab.

Most people on this plan sleep in Srinagar and drive out, which means you are not packing every morning. A night on a Dal Lake or Nigeen houseboat can replace one of the hotel nights if you ask. Say if you would rather wake up in Gulmarg or Pahalgam and we will change the nights.

How do you get here if you are coming alone?

Fly into Srinagar and the driver meets that flight. From Delhi that is the usual way, and the package starts after you land. The notes for that are with the other Kashmir tour packages from Delhi.

If you take the train, the road begins at Jammu Tawi. The Jammu to Srinagar taxi is a long day on your own, so we start it in daylight. Airfare and the train fare are not inside this package.

What to pack for a solo Kashmir trip

Warm layers. Evenings in Gulmarg and Sonamarg are cool even in summer, and from November to February you need a proper jacket, gloves and thermals
Walking shoes with some grip for the meadows, and waterproof boots if you are coming for the snow
An original government photo ID. Hotels ask for it and it is checked on the roads
A postpaid SIM. Prepaid connections from outside Jammu and Kashmir do not work here
Some cash for ponies, local union cabs and roadside stalls
Sunscreen and sunglasses. The sun at altitude and on snow is stronger than it feels

When to go

April to June brings the gardens and green meadows, July and August the greenest valleys, September and October clear autumn days, and December to February snow in Gulmarg. Itinerary

A private pickup from Srinagar airport to your own room. Dal Lake in the evening is optional, only if you still want to go out. You stay overnight in Srinagar.

A day trip to the Gulmarg meadows, about two hours from Srinagar. The gondola is optional and paid there. You come back to the same Srinagar room.

A day out to the Pahalgam valleys, about three hours each way from Srinagar. You are not moving hotels. Overnight in Srinagar again.

A day trip to Sonamarg, with time for a short walk if you want one. You return to Srinagar for the night.

Breakfast, then the private drop at Srinagar airport. The tour ends there.
