How a fixed departure works

The dates are set in advance and you book a place on one of them. The group travels together in a shared vehicle and stays in the same hotels, so you are not paying for a whole car and a driver on your own. Couples get their own room. A solo traveller can take a single room, which is quoted as a supplement.

Ask for the departure calendar and we send the dates that still have space. The price is per person and depends on the date and the hotel category, so it is quoted on request.

Who it suits, and who it does not

It works well for solo travellers, couples, two friends travelling together, and parents in their fifties or sixties who like a fixed plan with no decisions to make on the road. The pace is steady, with three day trips from Srinagar and one night in Pahalgam.

Best months for this circuit

April to June is the classic season, with gardens in bloom and snow still on the high points. September and October are clearer and calmer. Summer departures in July and August share the Pahalgam and Sonamarg roads with the Amarnath Yatra traffic, so drives can take longer.

Itinerary

Airport pickup and check-in. Meet the rest of the group, then a Shikara on Dal Lake in the evening. Overnight in Srinagar.

Nishat, Shalimar and Chashme Shahi in the morning, then Hazratbal and a drive through the old city. Garden entry fees are paid at the gate. Overnight in Srinagar.

About two hours to Gulmarg. The gondola is optional and paid there. Meadow walks in summer, snow in winter. Back in Srinagar for dinner.

A full day along the Sindh river. Walk or ride a pony towards Thajiwas glacier. Local cars to Zero Point are optional and priced there. Overnight in Srinagar.

Around three hours via the saffron fields of Pampore. Afternoon by the Lidder river. Overnight in Pahalgam.

Betaab Valley, Aru or Chandanwari by local union car in the morning, then the drive back to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar.

Breakfast and the airport drop. The trip ends here.
