How to get from Delhi to Srinagar by air or rail, and the Kashmir plans that suit families, groups and tight budgets. Budget trips from ₹6,999 per person, plus GST.
Most of the Kashmir trips we plan start in Delhi. Families fly up when the schools close, friends come up for a long weekend, and some people take the train because they want to watch the mountains rise outside the window. This page puts the Delhi side in one place: how you get to Srinagar, how long each way takes, and which of our packages fits the people you are travelling with.
Our packages begin in Srinagar. The flight or train from Delhi is a separate ticket, and the package price covers the hotels, meals and cab once you are in the valley. D2 Holidays works from Boulevard Road, Ghat No. 7, Srinagar, and is registered with J&K Tourism (Reg. No. JKTA00000675).
Flying is the quickest way up and the one most families choose. IndiGo, Air India, Air India Express and SpiceJet all fly nonstop from Delhi’s IGI airport to Srinagar, and the flight takes about an hour and a half. There are several flights a day, but the timings move between the summer and winter schedules, so check the airline before you fix Day 1.
If you live in Noida, Greater Noida or along the Yamuna Expressway, look at Noida International Airport at Jewar as well. IndiGo flies nonstop from there to Srinagar. Hindon airport in Ghaziabad has no Srinagar flight right now, so from that side of the city you would still fly from IGI or Jewar.
Srinagar airport handles daytime flights only, so you will not land at midnight. The driver meets you with a name board. On the way home, leave the hotel early. Allow time for the security checks, because the queues get long in season.
There is no single train from Delhi to Srinagar. You take one train to Jammu Tawi or to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, then a second train or a cab up to the valley. These are the ones Delhi travellers usually look at:
Seats on the Srinagar Vande Bharat fill quickly in season, so book on IRCTC as soon as your dates are fixed. If it is full, we send the cab instead and the rest of the plan stays the same. Train and flight fares are not part of the package price.
All prices are per person and plus GST, and they start once you reach Srinagar. The BigBoss trip is the one exception, because it includes the bus from Delhi and back.
| Package | Length | From (per person) | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cheapest Kashmir tour package | 3N/4D | ₹6,999 (was ₹9,999) | A short break in Srinagar and Gulmarg |
| Cheapest Kashmir tour package | 5N/6D | ₹9,999 (was ₹14,299) | Families who want all four places on a budget |
| 3 nights 4 days Kashmir package | 3N/4D | ₹8,999 | Our best seller: Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam |
| Family package with kids | 5N/6D | On request | Small children and one Srinagar hotel |
| Kashmir group tour package | 5N/6D | On request | Two or three families, friends or an office team |
| BigBoss group trip | 5N/6D | ₹19,999 | Solo travellers only, Delhi to Delhi by bus |
The two budget plans are 30% off until 31 October 2026. Both use 3-star hotels with breakfast and dinner, and two people share a room. Now and then a room takes three, never more.
Children under 5 stay free on the budget plans. Older children pay extra-bed charges, and we put that on the quote once you tell us their ages.
With small children, fly. A train to Jammu followed by another train or a long road day is a lot to ask of a five-year-old. If you do come by rail, break the journey with a night in Jammu or Katra rather than pushing straight through to Srinagar.
We keep it to one long drive a day. Gulmarg is about two hours from Srinagar and Pahalgam about three, so nobody spends the holiday in the back seat. Parents who would rather not change hotels at all should look at the family package with kids, which keeps one base in Srinagar.
For a group of friends, an office team or a big family, we quote by headcount: the rooms you need, a Tempo Traveller or a few cabs, and one plan for everyone. The Kashmir group tour package explains how that works. Groups that fly on one booking make the airport pickup simple, because one vehicle meets one flight.
On your own and happy to join others? The BigBoss group trip is a Delhi to Delhi trip by bus for 12 to 20 solo travellers, at ₹19,999 per person. A departure runs once 12 people have booked. If you would rather travel alone without a group, the Kashmir solo travel package is ₹12,999 with a room to yourself, or ₹19,999 in total for two people sharing.
The plan further down is written for people who fly. If you come up by train, Day 1 is the travel day and you reach Srinagar in the afternoon or evening. If there is light left we keep the Shikara that evening, and if not we move it to another day. The rest does not change.
For the trip home, leave a good gap at Jammu or Katra between the train from Srinagar and your train to Delhi, and check both timetables on IRCTC before you book. We can drop you at Srinagar station on the last morning instead of the airport.
May and June are the busiest weeks, when Delhi is hot and the schools are shut. Flights and rooms cost more then, so book early. September and October are quieter, with clear days and cool evenings. From December to February there is snow in Gulmarg, but fog in Delhi and snow in Srinagar can delay flights, so keep a spare day at the end.
