You share a bus from Delhi, a vehicle in Kashmir and a twin room with other solo travellers, and the whole week costs one fixed price. The price is only half the budget question, though. This guide is about the other half: what the package pays for, what you will still spend on the ground, and whether a group suits you better than planning the trip yourself.

Why a group of strangers costs less
Most of what makes a Kashmir holiday expensive for one person is paying alone for things that are built for two or more. A cab costs the same whether one person sits in it or six. A double room is priced per room, not per head. Flights from Delhi swing with the season.
A solo group fixes all three. The bus replaces the flight. Twelve or more people split one vehicle. Two travellers split each room. And because every night is in Srinagar, nobody pays mountain resort rates for a single night in Gulmarg or Pahalgam.
What you will still spend in Kashmir
Here is where first-time group travellers usually get caught out. None of these are hidden. They are simply outside the package, and the amount depends on what you choose to do.
- Lunch. Every day, plus meals at dhabas on the two bus journeys.
- Pahalgam valley points. The spots beyond Pahalgam town are served by the local union vehicles or ponies. You pay them directly.
- Ponies in Gulmarg. Optional. Agree the route and the rate before you get on.
- Gondola Phase 2. Your Phase 1 ticket is included. Phase 2 is separate and runs only when the weather allows.
- Shikara on Dal Lake. Optional, paid at the ghat.
- Mughal garden tickets. Small entry fees at each gate.
- Warm clothes and shopping. Renting boots or a jacket in Gulmarg, and anything you bring home.
We are not putting rupee figures on these here, because local rates change by season and we would rather give you the current number than a stale one. Ask us when you enquire and we will tell you the current rates for the usual extras. Carry some cash too. Card and UPI work in most of Srinagar, but not at every pony stand or roadside stall.

Is a strangers group right for you?
It usually works well if:
- you are travelling alone and would like company without having to organise it
- a long bus ride does not bother you
- you are fine sharing a room with one other traveller of the same gender
- you would rather know the full cost up front than build the trip piece by piece
It is probably not for you if you need to leave on a specific date, cannot take two nights on a bus, or want quiet mornings on your own schedule.
Before you leave Delhi
- Original government photo ID. It is checked on the highway and at check-in.
- A postpaid SIM if you want your phone to work. Prepaid connections from outside Jammu and Kashmir do not work here.
- Cash for lunches, the extras above and road stops.
- Layers for the season. Evenings in Srinagar turn cold well before winter, and Gulmarg is colder still.
- No tight onward booking on the day you get back. The bus reaches Delhi when the highway allows.

Are there fixed departure dates?
No. We do not publish a calendar. A group leaves when it reaches 12 travellers, so ask for the next date.
Is the Gulmarg gondola included?
Yes, the Phase 1 ticket is in the package. Phase 2 is not included and depends on the weather.
How many nights are in a hotel?
Three, all in Srinagar at a hotel or houseboat. The other two nights are on the bus.
Can I join with a friend?
This departure is for solo travellers only. Two or more people travelling together should ask about our other group or private packages.
